This Privacy Policy describes how 单词方块 (the “App”), developed by garrygu (“we”, “us”, or “our”), handles information when you use our vocabulary learning game on iOS. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Overview
单词方块 is an educational word game. Most gameplay runs entirely on your device. Optional online multiplayer uses a real-time connection to coordinate matches; we do not operate user accounts, advertising networks, or analytics platforms in the App.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
The App may store the following data locally on your iPhone or iPad using on-device storage (localStorage):

3. Online Multiplayer Data
If you use online versus mode, the App connects to our multiplayer service hosted on Zeabur (infrastructure outside mainland China). During an active session, the service may temporarily process:
- Your chosen nickname
- A randomly generated connection identifier
- Room code and match status
- In-match game statistics (score, lines cleared, correct/wrong answers)
- Technical ping messages to keep the connection alive
This data is held in server memory only for the duration of the connection or match. We do not persist multiplayer data to a database, sell it, or use it for advertising or profiling. When you leave a room, disconnect, or close the App, associated session data is removed.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
- Real name, phone number, email address, or postal address
- Precise or coarse location
- Contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data
- Apple ID or device advertising identifiers for tracking
- Browsing history outside the App
5. In-App Purchases (if offered)
The App may offer optional in-app purchases (for example, unlocking additional vocabulary packs). All payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card or banking details. Apple may provide us with purchase confirmation needed to unlock content.
6. Third-Party Services
- Apple App Store / StoreKit — app distribution and optional purchases, subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy
- Zeabur — hosts our WebSocket multiplayer relay; session data is transient as described above
We do not embed third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the App.
7. Children’s Privacy
单词方块 is designed for students learning English vocabulary, including middle and high school learners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not require registration with an email address or phone number. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
8. Data Retention
- On-device data — retained until you delete the App or reset related settings
- Multiplayer session data — deleted when the session ends or the server restarts
- Purchase records — managed by Apple according to Apple’s policies
9. Security
Multiplayer connections use encrypted WebSocket (WSS). We apply reasonable technical measures such as message size limits and server-side validation to reduce abuse. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Users
The App is available in multiple App Store regions. On-device data remains on your device. Multiplayer data may be processed on servers located outside your country (currently via Zeabur’s global infrastructure). By using online multiplayer, you understand that session data may cross international borders during a match.
11. Your Choices and Rights
- You may play single-player mode without using online multiplayer
- You may choose any nickname; avoid using your real name if you prefer anonymity
- You may delete the App to remove locally stored data
- Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data — contact us to exercise them
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect changes. Material changes will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the App after updates means you accept the revised policy.
